I Didn't Just Create a Deck of Cards. I Created Something for Us.

Black Heirs started with something simple: I love Spades.

But for me, Spades has never been just a card game.

It's family. It's friends. It's laughter around the table. It's talking trash when you know your hand is good. It's the look your partner gives you when they know exactly what you're about to do. It's reunions, cookouts, holidays, late nights, celebrations, and memories.

Spades is culture.

And one day, I started thinking:

If this game means so much to us, why doesn't the deck look like us?

That's when the idea for Black Heirs was born.

Creating a Deck That Represents Us

I wanted to create something beautiful enough to display, exciting enough to bring to the table, and meaningful enough to become part of a family's traditions.

I didn't want to simply put different faces on ordinary playing cards.

I wanted Black Heirs to feel royal, bold, unapologetic, and culturally familiar.

Every detail was created with intention—from the artwork and gold details to the personalities represented throughout the deck.

Because representation shouldn't stop with television, movies, books, and fashion.

We deserve to see ourselves in the traditions we already love.

Why "Black Heirs"?

The word Heirs is intentional.

An heir receives something from the generations that came before them and carries it forward.

That's what culture is.

That's what tradition is.

That's what legacy is.

Somebody taught us how to play Spades. Somebody told us what not to do at that table. Somebody taught us that reneging might get you talked about for the rest of the night.

And eventually, we teach somebody else.

That's inheritance.

That's Black Heirs.

More Than a Deck

My vision for Black Heirs is bigger than playing cards.

I want to build a brand that celebrates the games, traditions, humor, competitiveness, style, and experiences that connect generations.

I want a Black Heirs deck sitting on coffee tables, traveling to family reunions, coming out at cookouts, going on vacations, and being passed from one generation to the next.

Years from now, I want someone to pull out their Black Heirs deck and say:

"We've been playing with these forever."

Because ultimately, I'm not just building a product.

I'm creating something I hope becomes part of our tradition.
